Greg J. Marchand, MD, FACS, FACOG, FICS, is a dual board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, and Director of the Marchand Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery in Mesa, Arizona. He was the first surgeon in the United States to receive the Surgical Review Corporation’s Master Surgeon designation in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and holds three world records for minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Greg J. Marchand is dual board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and holds the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, awarded in the first class to receive that designation in 2021. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons.
He serves as Program Director of the SLS-accredited Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecologic Surgery affiliated with HonorHealth Four Peaks Medical Center, and holds clinical professorships at Washington University of Health and Science, the University of Science, Arts and Technology, A.T. Still University, Midwestern University, and Rocky Vista University.
Dr. Marchand holds a Guinness World Record for the largest uterus ever removed laparoscopically and two World Record Academy records, for the largest malignant tumor to undergo successful laparoscopic ovarian cancer staging surgery and for performing a hysterectomy through the smallest incision ever recorded. In 2017 he became the first physician in the United States to earn the Surgical Review Corporation’s Master Surgeon designation in MIGS. He is the inventor of three patented surgical systems and techniques, and his laparoscopic cervical cerclage technique was incorporated into the OB/GYN core competencies curriculum at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
He has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications and three textbooks and book chapters, serves on the editorial boards of BMC Women’s Health, BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, and the American Journal of Clinical Case Reports, and is a verified peer reviewer for journals including the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Marchand can usually provide: a plain-language summary of any published study, the full text where licensing permits, the PROSPERO registration, forest plots and figures, and an interview with a named author. He does not comment on unpublished data under embargo from other groups.
